1. Choosing the chair

Is a nursing chair really worth it, or will a normal armchair do?
It depends on how you'll use it. If you expect long feeds, especially at night, what matters is a back high enough to rest your head, arms that support your elbows, and a seat that keeps its shape. Compare those measurements on any chair you're considering, including ours. If the chair will stay in use for stories and reading afterwards, it is easier to justify.

Is it only for breastfeeding?
No. "Nursing" in a chair's name simply means feeding. It's designed for feeding however you feed your baby — breast or bottle — and for cuddles and stories while you're awake.

What happens to it once the feeding months are over?
That's the part of its story we care about most. The same chair becomes the place for bedtime books, then a reading chair in a bedroom or living room. It's an adult armchair, not a piece of baby equipment, so it doesn't have an age limit.

Which colours can I choose?

2. Measurements and fit

Will it fit in a small nursery?
Check three numbers: width, depth when reclined, and the rocking clearance behind the chair. Mark them out on the floor with masking tape before you order.

Why do you publish the rocking clearance?
Because a rocking chair moves. It needs space behind it as it rocks, and more again when it reclines. A chair that fits its footprint can still knock the wall, the cot or a radiator. We'd rather you knew the full space it needs before it arrives.

I'm tall (or petite). Will it suit me?

My partner and I are very different heights. Can we share it?

Will it go through my door and up the stairs?

3. Comfort and materials

What's the seat made of, and will it go flat?

What is the frame made of?

Does it creak or squeak when it rocks?

4. Safe use

Is it safe to use with a baby?
It's designed for feeding and stories while you're awake. Please follow The Lullaby Trust's safer-sleep advice: don't fall asleep with your baby in an armchair or on a sofa. Can I stop it rocking?

What if it arrives damaged?
Please tell us as soon as you can, with a photo of the damage and of the box. If the chair arrives damaged or faulty, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply, and we'll arrange a repair, a replacement or a refund. See our Returns page for the details.

6. Returns, faults and guarantee

What if it's not right for me?
You can cancel within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. When will I get my refund?
Within 14 days of the day we receive the chair back, or of the day you show us proof that you've sent it, whichever is sooner. If we collect the chair, within 14 days of the day you tell us you're cancelling. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery, to your original payment method.

What if a fault appears after a few months?
Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 still apply. Tell us what's happened, with a photo or a short video, and we'll put it right with a repair, a replacement or, if that isn't possible, a refund. See our Returns page for how your rights work over time.

Is there a guarantee?
